Section 1: Job Summary
This position will be responsible for leading all aspects of new product development for a category within our beauty brand. This includes providing strategic direction, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring successful launches of innovative products. The ideal candidate will have experience in project management, consumer insights, marketing strategy, and strong leadership skills to drive results.
Section 2: Job Responsibilities
• Lead cross-functional teams through all stages of product development including concept ideation, formulation, packaging design, clinical testing, claims substantiation, regulatory compliance, etc.
• Provide strategic direction for assigned categories based on market trends, consumer needs, and business objectives.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting strict timelines and budget constraints.
• Collaborate with internal departments such as R&D, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Packaging Engineering, etc.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external partners including suppliers, contract manufacturers, advertising agencies, etc.
• Ensure successful launches of innovative products by conducting market research, analyzing competitive landscape, developing go-to-market plans, etc.
Section 3: Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
• Minimum 8 years of experience in product development or marketing management role within the cosmetics industry
• Proven track record of successfully launching innovative products
• Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to think creatively and outside the box
• Highly motivated self-starter with a passion for the beauty industry
• Experience working with cross-functional teams
• Solid understanding of market trends and consumer needs within the beauty industry
• Knowledge of FDA regulations regarding cosmetic products
