Background & Purpose of the Job

The Marketing and Business Services Procurement organization manages over €7 Billion spend in Brand Marketing Investment. The marketing procurement organization is on the front lines of driving incremental return on this investment through strategic sourcing and relationship management with our top marketing agencies and tech partners.

More than a marketing transformation, “social-first” marketing is a total business transformation and reconsideration of how marketing is done- internally- and with our partners.

This role is at the center of this business transformation, and is the bridge across creative agencies, influencer agencies, Ad Production, UGC content, PR, and technologies unlocking creative automation at scale. Therefore, in this role you will be a player at the nexus driving brand equity and sales growth for our brands, in partnership with our marketing colleagues and key strategic partners. Additionally, this role will increasingly bridge strategy between content (asset creation) media, and data (insights), with an expectation to form an integrated value chain across the requisite procurement and business teams, as well as with external partners.

In this role, you will

  • Be accountable for the development and implementation of global sourcing strategy for all asset creation portfolio globally, including creative agencies, influencers, PR, ad production, and social content capabilities.

  • Develop sharp BG-driven sourcing strategies in collaboration with BG procurement leads and BG LT’s.

  • Execute the 7 Step Collaborative Procurement Methodology as your strategic sourcing way of working

  • Manage relationships with key suppliers

  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, becoming their trusted advisor and business partner to drive value through strategic execution

  • Be strong in data analysis and visualization, and an expert storyteller who knows how to convince and influencer through numbers

  • This role requires a creative, high energy candidate who demonstrates strength in white space and is comfortable interfacing with and influencing senior leaders to land and implement new business models, delivering business growth and bottom-line impact. Key deliverables include savings and cash delivery, ROI, demand management, and cost avoidance. To deliver, it is essential to quickly learn the respective businesses in coverage, establish credibility with stakeholders, and understand vendor/market capabilities to ensure Unilever is fully leveraging supplier partnerships.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Self-Starter

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 10+ years of procurement experience

  • Experience and knowledge of indirect procurement or marketing procurement

  • Experience of managing a global team

  • Capabilities and skills in Strategic Sourcing

  • Working with cross geographical teams and cross functional teams. And willingness to work in a virtual team.

  • Experience of procurement transformation, change and business engagement.

  • Experience and knowledge of business models in advertising, market research and/or marketing agencies management will be a strong plus

  • Leading multiple projects simultaneously and independently

  • Unafraid to work with senior stakeholders and suppliers, supported through excellent communication skills.

  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint abilities
